The Greenville Area Community Tennis Association (GACTA) was formed as a non-profit corporation for exclusively charitable and educational purposes to promote the development of tennis as a mean of healthful recreation and phyical fitness for all individuals in the Greenville, Alabama area.
Our primary focus is to "Change Lives through Tennis" by making it possible for all children from every social and economic background in Greenville and surrounding communities to learn the life-long sport of tennis. Our goal is to promote healthy lifestyles by providing an opportunity for children at actively participate in local tennis programs, workshops and tournaments.
Your membership will enable to us:
*bring our community together in a sport that is fun for all ages by building an active tennis program
in our community
*sponsor clinics and group lessons for youth
*sponsor local area tournaments for youth and adults
*sponsor a National Junior Tennis league program
*obtain preferential access to US Tennis Assocation (USTA) grants for tennis facilities and programs
*host USTA tournaments locally
*encourage local administrators that new tennis facilities will be effectively utilized and worth the expenditure.
We also plan to sponsor a national Junior Tennis League Program in our community through the US Tennis Association. In doing so we will:
*Reach out to those who may not otherwise have the opportunity to play tennis
*Instill in youngsters the values of leadership and academic excellence
*Give all kids (regardless of income, race, gender) the opportunity to fully develop their tennis skills
so they can derive a life time of enjoyment from the sport
Whether you love tennis or have never played before, whether you have family and friends who love tennis or who just want to learn, or whether you just simply like to promote a program such as ours that will greatly benefit our community, your "family"membership and donations to the Greenville Area Community Tennis Association are greatly appreciated.
